Growing up, I had a front-row seat to the havoc diabetes could wreak on a person’s life. My father, a strong and resilient man, was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I witnessed his struggles, the constant monitoring of blood sugar levels, the endless medications, and the limitations on his diet. It was a constant battle against an invisible enemy.
